 The Scotland County Detention Center is charged with the goal of aiding public safety by providing detention services for persons charged with or convicted of various criminal and civil offenses, as ordered by the court. The Detention Center operates under the authority of the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office and is under the direction of the Chief Jail Administrator.

 The Scotland County Detention Center serves our community and citizens by providing safe, secure and humane detention of individuals in our custody while preparing them for a successful return to the community. The Detention Center is operated by properly trained personnel using the core principles of integrity, loyalty and service to provide a secure, safe, efficient, progressive, and humane facility for both staff and inmates
